These islands have shaped our paths, nurtured our souls, and offered us a sense of belonging. Our work is an offering in return—an expression of love, appreciation, and respect for the people and land that have held and shaped us into the people we are today.

  • Samantha Parsons

    CO-FOUNDER

Sam owns Tidal Roots Farm & Venue in Belle Vue, Tortola alongside her husband Tim. She originally moved to Tortola where her grandparents lived in 2015 to study Psychology at the University of the West Indies and work at Good Moon Farm. After the hurricanes in 2017, Sam moved to her husband’s childhood home in Belle Vue, where Tidal Roots was born. The farm has been a cornerstone in the agriculture community ever since, providing produce to both people in the community as well as private yachts and islands. She helped revive the Saturday farmers markets and has hosted countless community events. After giving birth to her daughter in 2020, Sam felt called to prioritize healthy living and started studying Ayurveda with Maha Vidya School of Ayurveda and Yoga as well as Arya Institute of Ayurveda. Since then, Tidal Roots has grown into so much more than just a farm. The land is a place where people gather to heal, learn, connect, and create. With a lot of love to give, Sam knows she is being guided to offer something truly special to this community.

Where it all began…

Our connection initially started as student and teacher. Sam, a farmer in the BVI, has studied Ayurveda, yoga and meditation with Carlie’s school, Maha Vidya, since 2021. Over the years this has grown into a really sweet friendship. We both have a deep love for our home in the Caribbean, growing and cooking fun recipes inspired by local food, are happiest playing in the ocean or anywhere in nature, and prioritize our meditation practice & the cultivation of our connection with the divine above all else. We believe we’ve each been blessed with lives full of love, health, joy, and meaning. It is from this place of abundance and gratitude that we feel deeply called to give back—especially to the island communities that have given us so much. These places have shaped our paths, nurtured our souls, and offered us a sense of belonging. Our work is an offering in return—an expression of love, appreciation, and respect for the people and land that have held and shaped us into the women we are today. Together, we bring complementary skills, a shared mindset, and a deep desire to serve. We believe that when you are truly empowered, the most natural response is to help empower others.
